Amelia Collins is a Sport Psychologist (SEPiT) and Performance Coach working across sport from grassroots through to elite and international level. She supports athletes, coaches and multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable performance within complex sporting environments, working across a range of sporting contexts.

Her approach combines evidence-informed sport psychology with practical coaching experience, creating the space for people to understand themselves, challenge themselves and continue to develop their potential. Amelia believes in developing the person alongside the performer, so that progress is meaningful, performance is sustainable and the journey remains enjoyable.

Amelia is actively involved in research exploring the psychological experiences of injury, return to sport and transitions within sport. Her work includes a recent 2026 academic publication in Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology, alongside ongoing research exploring the psychological experiences of prolonged concussion recovery journeys. She particularly enjoys bridging the gap between research and practice, translating current evidence into practical approaches that can be applied within the realities of training, competition and recovery.

Alongside her psychology practice, Amelia is an Accredited Professional Stage 4 Senior Event Coach. She is passionate about holistic development and believes that sustainable performance in equestrian sport comes from supporting both sides of the partnership. For Amelia, neither horse nor rider should have to be compromised in the pursuit of performance; instead, the aim is to create an environment in which both can develop, perform and thrive together.

Amelia has been involved in sport from the age of three and has competed across a range of sporting environments. She achieved her Shodan black belt in karate and represented GB at international competitions, alongside competing in 1500m and cross-country running and still loves the mental discipline that running brings.

Her sporting world is now firmly centred around horses. Alongside coaching and producing some wonderful client horses, Amelia is currently producing a young eventing prospect of her own. Being actively involved in the sport keeps her connected to the realities of developing both horse and rider, celebrating the small wins, navigating setbacks, learning from the difficult days and, above all, enjoying the journey of discovering what is possible.
